OUR MISSION

Flying Turtle Post is a post-production collective offering cost-effective services to the independent film community in central New York and beyond. Our goal is to use help our clients achieve their vision within their budget through creative thinking and an innovative approach to VFX and post-production.

We are also a hub for aspiring artists and women filmmakers, providing a community and resources to help them connect and excel. With an increasingly diverse population of non-practitioners entering the film industry to make their voices and stories heard, they need resources to help guide them through, including how to bring VFX and post-production into the conversation early to enhance their storytelling process.

Visual effects can be a big, scary division of filmmaking that new filmmakers shy away from and don’t realize that they need until the final stages. We are here to help make VFX and post-production more approachable to independent filmmakers.

WHAT WE DO

Our services include, but are not limited to, invisible vfx including removals and monitor comps, vfx script breakdown and bidding, color grading for short films, production logo design and animation, and on-set vfx supervision.

OUR STORY

The company was founded by industry vet Shaina Holmes to support the growth of entry level aspiring artists, giving them the ability to work on festival and global distribution level projects right out of college.

She continues to build her team through Park Post (Ithaca College) and Syracuse University Post (SUP!) post-production mentorship programs she created, as well as her seasoned professional contacts who currently work on high-profile projects in the field today.
